Our Tour Guide training achievements include:

Tour Guide Training Course

Wilderness Challenge works with the Tropical North Queensland Institute of TAFE (Technical and Further Education) to deliver the region’s nationally accredited Tour Guide qualification, the Certificate III in Tourism (Guiding).

Students complete 4 units with TNQ TAFE using flexible delivery workbooks, 8 units in workshops with Wilderness Challenge (6 weeks x 3 days per week), and complete their Senior First Aid Certificate (2 days) to complete the qualification.

The practical skills and knowledge gained in the course are applicable to many guiding roles, and the course is delivered in a practical and fun way, with over half of our time on field trips to natural sites, experiencing tourism products or meeting operators. Most students have a choice of employment opportunities after completion.
