Our Special Places

Australia’s Tropical Savannahs
In Australia’s far north we’re lucky to have some of the finest wilderness areas in the world, stretching from Cape York’s Pacific coast to the Kimberley’s Indian Ocean shore ... a vast land of amazing contrast and unimaginable surprise, with no less than five World Heritage listed areas.
From Cairns, our amazing region includes the Daintree rainforest, historic Cooktown and nearby the world renown Aboriginal rock art of "Quinkan country".
To the north Cape York’s pristine wilderness beckons while following the sun will reveal the epic Gulf Savannah outback, the natural & cultural treasures of Kakadu and the spectacular geology of Kimberley.
"On a global scale, such large areas are now very rare. Northern Australia stands out as one of the very few large natural areas remaining on Earth alongside such global treasures as the Amazon rainforests, the boreal conifer forests of Alaska and the polar wilderness of Antarctica."
